Support Winnataska during COVID-19

Till We Meet Again Next Summer!

Camp Winnataska staff, volunteers, alumni, and the Camp and FOW boards have never been as excited about a summer as we were for 2020. The Comanches and Blackfeet were pumped, and we had a variety of wonderful new improvements for campers. Volunteers and staff created a small "farm" for a Sustainability Program with plants, chickens, and goats. We had completed a new laser tag tactical field, new low ropes course, new luggage pavilion, and a variety of program improvements. AND, we have built new huts and bath houses on Chico Hill!

As just about every person and every institution in the world, Camp Winnataska was significantly impacted by the Coronavirus. For safety reasons and in compliance with Governor Ivey's orders, the Camp Board made the painful decision to cancel all camp sessions, so we have lost revenue from camp fees, our primary source of income. If you love Winnataska, this is your moment to take action and assist Camp through some lean months.

As Aubrey and Blake Huynh, the Summer Camp and Program Directors said to the weekly directors, “Words are not enough to express the disappointment and sorrow that those of us here at camp are feeling. However, we are also incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement that so many of you have given us during this journey.”

Now is the time we can all come together as the Camp Family to help this beloved organization that has survived for over 102 years. We can all reach into our pockets -- and pull out whatever amounts are possible -- to show our appreciation for this special place and help fill the revenue hole. Our spirits are lifted by the remembrance of all those who went before us and built Camp, and they remind us that we can all contribute time, talent, and treasure to make Winnataska's 2021 season a rousing success, and to keep our fantastic momentum going.

We have a goal of $150,000 we must reach to maintain the well-being of “the camp we love the best of all” through the end of the year. Any donation amount directly helps Winnataska, and we greatly appreciate gifts from $25 to $25,000! If you want to help in other ways, we will have volunteer projects offered soon.
